Aït-Saïd Out of the French Team for the Worlds

The French Gymnastics Federation (FFG) announced the names of the gymnasts that will represent the country in the 48th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Doha, State of Qatar (October 25th – November 3rd).

Missing from the list is Samir Aït-Saïd, the unlucky gymnast who broke his leg while performing his Vault routine during qualification in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Since then he has made a full recovery and returned to competition, however, not on the French team. The priority is the team event in Doha and according to the technical director of the French federation, Kevinn Rabaud, there was a greater need at the Pommel Horse; their weaker apparatus.

Ait-Said does not perform on the Pommel Horse, but he will have a chance to qualify for the Olympic Games and other future events.
