Africa awaits its first ever International, Youth Multisport Event: Morocco 2018 ISF Gymnasiade on 2nd to 9th May

Gymnasiade 2018 – ISF School Summer Games will be the first ever International, Multisport Event for young athletes held on African soil. ProTV is honoured to be the Technical provider for the even.

The 17th edition of Gymnasiade, also known as the ISF School Summer Games 2018, will gather school youth from 50 different countries, all coming to Morocco from 2nd  to 9th May, to take part in the sport event, which combines traditional sport competition with educational system and Olympic values.

Gymnasiade will be held under the High Patronage of his Majesty of King Mohammed VI and is part of the broader sport vision Morocco has for its future. The event is organised by the International School Sport Federation, Moroccan School Sport Federation (FRMSS), Moroccan

Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research and Ministry of Youth and Sport.

This week-long sport event is an important milestone for Africa, proving the next generation is ready to make a difference and take the development of education and sport to the next level. More than 15 African countries will send their school youth to compete alongside their counterparts from all over the World (3000 pupils from 50 countries are participating).

Through sport, Gymnasiade calls for quality education, cultural exchange, wellbeing, peace, fair play and gender equality among youth, also by offering additional educational activities and workshops, in accordance with UN Global Goals, held alongside the competition.

The event also connects grassroot with professional sport; youth will be led, and inspired, by Olympic and World Champions,such as Teddy Riner and Hicham El Guerrouj, who will take up on a role as Gymnasiade ambassadors.

Media outlets Olympic Channel and Eurosport will be both covering the event and key moments of Gymnasiade.
